This is not just another conference. This is a game changer. The RWTH Tech Impact Festival has only one goal: to escape the valley of death that is the transfer of university research into the economy, in order to make our world a better place in the long term. The festival will take place for the first time on 25 and 26 March, offering an innovation ecosystem that is unprecedented in this form and surprising formats. Let's shape our future together in ten streams: AI-Native Telco, Battery Power & Renewable Energies, BioTech & Life Sciences, Deep Tech Innovation & Transfer, Digital Industry, Future Mobility, Next Generation Computing & AI, Raw Materials, Urban Infrastructure, Sustainibility & Circular Economy.
The program is built around curated thematic streams that define the festival’s focus areas. Across two days, these streams provide a framework for keynotes, panels, and interactive formats. The overview below highlights the thematic structure of the festival. The full programme is now online: PROGRAM | Tech Impact Festival
“We are not interested in showcasing technology for its own sake,” Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Riesener, speaker of the organizing team says. “The key question is always: where can this be applied, and who needs it.” As Professor of Deep Tech Innovation at RWTH Aachen University and Managing Director of RWTH Innovation GmbH, Riesener operates at the interface between research and application. “There is a clear gap between basic research and deployment,” Riesener explains.
The Tech Impact Festival was conceived as a response to precisely this challenge. Initiated by Riesener, the festival brings together researchers, companies, start-ups, investors, and policymakers to make the breadth of RWTH technologies visible and to create concrete points of connection for cooperation. Leading minds from industry and academia driving the next generation of technologies. Every speaker brings deep expertise, practical experience and a forward-looking perspective. Their insights open up new angles, sharpen strategic thinking and support confident navigation through technological change. Roundabout 170 speakers have been confirmed for the various streams.
